Set in the Montana of 1880, the arrival of a new railroad threatens the livelihood of aging, unmarried rancher Charlotte — forcing her to confront the traumatic memories that tie her to the land she refuses to abandon. I appear in the film as Sheriff Warren.
Water Girl, directed by Nnamdi Kanaga, is a mystery drama based on Igbo cultural mythology. At its center is Nkechi, who gives birth to her daughter Kamsi after several miscarriages — but soon realizes that the girl may be an Ọgbanje, a so-called spirit child that brings death and return. The film intertwines this supernatural threat with themes such as motherhood, trauma, and the environment. Alongside Stella Damasus and Moriyahfaith Jackson, Nick Wilder appears as Mike, the husband of Stella Damasus. The film also tells the deeply moving story of Ben Whitmore Sr. (played by Cristóbal Krusen), a father who has struggled for years with his son Benny’s mental illness. Benny suffers from schizophrenia and is being treated in a psychiatric facility. One day, Ben receives the message that his son has been cured and can return home. Filled with hope, he sets out to pick him up — only to learn at the hospital that Benny has disappeared. Nick Wilder plays psychiatrist Dr. Josef Bitterman, who tries to navigate between Ben’s despair and medical reality. His character represents the rational counterpart to Ben’s emotional search — a man who believes in the power of treatment, yet recognizes the limits of science when it comes to love and faith. The film blends psychological drama with spiritual depth, asking the question: How far will a father go to get his son back — and what does “healing” truly mean? The film tells the story of Benjamin “Ben” Whitmore Sr., an aging, deeply religious father who receives the news that his son, Benjamin “Benny” Whitmore Jr., has overcome his schizophrenia. Filled with hope, he travels to the Middlemouth Security Hospital, expecting to finally bring him home. But instead of a joyful reunion, Ben learns that Benny is nowhere to be found. And the more he asks, the more resistance he encounters — especially from the head psychiatrist, Dr. Bitterman, played by me. As Ben continues his search, his journey becomes increasingly desperate, emotional, and at times surreal. The film blends biographical elements with symbolic and dramatic portrayals of suffering, hope, faith, and the struggle with mental illness. At its core, however, the film centers on one theme: hope despite illness. It shows that mental illness never affects only the person diagnosed — it shakes entire families. And it underscores that faith, love, and perseverance can matter more than any diagnosis or quick solution.
In A Heidelberg Holiday (2023), I play the role of Rudi, who appears in Heidelberg as a friendly and down-to-earth local. My character supports the main protagonists in their everyday lives, brings a sense of grounding to the story, and reflects the traditional, warm atmosphere of the city. Rudi serves as a connecting element between the Christmas market, the local culture, and the personal journeys of Heidi and Lukas.
In the Danish feature film Hvidstensgruppen – Widerstand in Dänemark (original title: Hvidsten Gruppen, 2012, directed by Anne-Grethe Bjarup Riis), I portray SS-Sturmbannführer Eugen Schwitzgebel. My character is the German officer leading the investigation into the Hvidsten Group — a courageous resistance network operating during the German occupation of Denmark in World War II. Schwitzgebel embodies the cold, disciplined ruthlessness and the hard authority of the occupying regime: a man driven by duty, yet fully enmeshed in the machinery of oppression. His presence brings tension, pressure, and the chilling force of the era’s darkest power to the story.

The Bourne Supremacy (German title: Die Bourne Verschwörung) is a 2004 American–German espionage thriller directed by Paul Greengrass. I appear in a supporting role as an FBI agent. The film stars Matt Damon, Franka Potente, Brian Cox, and Joan Allen.

I play the construction supervisor Taylor. This role marked the beginning of my Hollywood career, as Roland Emmerich’s film became a major success. The leading roles are played by Kurt Russell and James Spader.

In this fifth episode of Miami Vice, I made my very first appearance as an actor on an american TV screen, playing the role of a referee in a speedboat race.

My appearance in the 1994 science-fiction film Stargate was an important breakthrough in my career and opened the door to larger productions. At first, I thought it was a student project — which made me all the more impressed by the scale of the production and the filming in the Yuma Desert. I often describe it with the words: from the “Dream Ship” to the “Spaceship.”

German Films & Series

In Germany, I became well-known through my role as Dr. Wolf Sander in the ZDF series Das Traumschiff. In addition, I have taken on roles outside of television that have also become very popular. You can find my most well-known national films and series in the list.
In the film The Very Moment (2022), Alex (Maximilian Grill) shares his apartment with Klaus (Nick Wilder), who becomes increasingly obsessed with the idea that he is the illegitimate son of Evita Perón and King George VI. When he also begins to believe he is being hunted by intelligence agencies — and mistakes Alex for an agent — the situation escalates: Klaus decides he must eliminate him, triggering a chaotic chase through Berlin as Alex desperately tries to save his job and his life.
In the ARD telenovela Rote Rosen (“red roses”), I appeared in a recurring role, bringing fresh energy to the ensemble as a charismatic character. With my presence, I added extra dynamism to the series and showcased a new facet of my acting — beyond my well-known roles as a TV doctor or adventure figure.
As ship’s doctor Dr. Sander, I became known to millions of viewers. I was a permanent member of the crew aboard the MS Deutschland and later the MS Amadea, shaping the face of the series for nearly a decade. During that time, I appeared alongside Florian Silbereisen, Barbara Wussow, and Harald Schmidt, among others.
I also appear in the spin-off of the ZDF series, playing Dr. Sander, the physician responsible for the well-being of guests on the wedding cruises, accompanying the events with my calm and reliable manner.
As a main cast member of the action crime series, I play an investigator who works on thrilling cases set against the exotic backdrop of Mallorca and other filming locations.
The 25-year-old Irma (Jasmin Tabatabai) works as a cleaning woman in the villa of Judge Dr. Schwarz. One day, she discovers that Dr. Schwarz is keeping her mother-in-law Nelly locked up in the basement. Irma frees her, and together they begin a campaign of revenge against the judge. I play Hans O. Meier in this comedy.

You could also see me perform in Germany outside of television and film productions.

In 2024, I performed on stage at the Karl May Festival in Bad Segeberg (Germany). In the role of the businessman Emery Forster, who rules the town of New Venango with an iron fist, I was able to bring not only my natural charm to the stage, but also an icy ruthlessness.
